Topshop Velvet Lips - Plush

Topshop have gone luxuriously goth with their latest collection, The Damned, full of matt, velvet rich dark shades. As soon as I saw Plush I just had to try it out - I do love a plum lip, especially at this time of year - and the fact that it was a velvet finish intrigued me.

It looks fairly bright purple in the tube, with a tinge of blue, which is also evident as you apply it to your lips, but seems to fade away as it dries to a velvet finish, leaving your lips gorgeously matt and full of a berry colour that is a nice mixture between bright and dark.  

Because of the velvet finish, make sure you apply lip balm before you put the Velvet Lips on - the finish will show up any dry patches and feels slightly drying on the lips. On soft lips, it looks beautiful, and incredibly long lasting!

Free nails inc Polish with Glamour Magazine - Victoria

You gotta love it when a magazine freebie is something good. nails inc seem to collaborate at least once a year with Glamour magazine, and it's that special time of year once again. When you buy the December issue for £2 (with Kristen Stewart on the cover) you get a free nails inc nail polish, which would normally cost £11.

There are a choice of four shades - Victoria, Tate, Picadilly Circus or Basil Street.... or you could go for all four! I was fairly restrained and just got the one - I picked up Victoria which is a very deep cherry colour that is almost brown. It's fairly similar to an OPI polish I have - William Tell Me About OPI. It reminds me of the colour of barbeque sauce!

As with all nails inc polishes, it goes on well and lasts a while before it starts to chip. I'd thoroughly recommend everyone to take advantage of this offer, especially if you've never tried nails inc before; there's never been a better time to try!

Nails of the Day - OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

This was my staple Autumn/Winter 2009 nail polish - just goes so nicely with everything, lasts well, and with a topcoat is super shiny! As the warmer weather teases us I thought I'd better get in a few wears of this before it's all about brights and pastels that you just can't pull of in the same manner in the cold weather. Lincoln Park After Dark is a dark dark shade with hints of plum. William Tell Me About OPI which was released last year is very similar to this - but this wins hands down. I'd go as far as saying this is one of my favourite shades EVER!
