Nails of the Day - The Pastel 'Caggie'

...aka 'I've painted each one of my nails in a different colour'! It just always reminds me of Caggie Dunlop from Made in Chelsea as it's the nails she always seems to be rocking, so The Caggie is what I've dubbed this look in my head.

I hadn't done this since I was about 12, and it was lots of fun.

People seem to either love it, or hate it! These are actually my nails from last week which I haven't blogged about yet. Females commented how much they liked it - whereas the men that passed comment seemed to be a little more negative!

If you want to try it out for yourself, it's so easy - just pick 5 colours which compliment each other and have the same finish - you could do 5 glitters, 5 neons, 5 different shades of the same colour, 5 metallics, 5 magnetics, or 5 pastels like me!

Do you like it? Love or hate?!

Nails of the Day - Ciate Lemon Sherbert

I've toyed with the idea of yellow nail polish for a while; sometimes I'll see it and think 'yuck - smokers nails!' and other times I really like it. With Chanel's Mimosa polish being released, I think the yellow nail trend will pick up - so here I am putting a tentative toe in the water.

The polish I am wearing is by Ciaté, I love their bottles with long black handles and cute bow around the neck of the bottle. The brush is wide which makes for easy application and they have a wide range of colours available. Lemon Sherbert is exactly that, the colour you would see in the Sherbert Lemon jar if you visited an old fashioned sweet shop. It's a pale, pastel yellow creme polish - kind of like a glossy half Tippex, half yellow mix. I'm still undecided as to whether I like it or not... I think perhaps darker skin tones would pull it off better. It has lasted well so far... currently on day 2 and no signs of chipping... I think I will try it again once I'm more tanned!

Ciaté Paint Pots are available from Powder Rooms, as well as lots of other lovely beauty items.

Nails of the Day - Frosty Nails

Brrrrrrr, it's freeeeezing so to fit with the weather I thought I'd experiment with my nail polishes to create a frosty look.

First I painted my nails with Ciate Refresher, which was very kindly sent to me by PowderRooms.com It is just like its name - a Refresher, a whitish pastel blue colour which is really pretty and I look forward to using in the summer. Then I painted the tips and dragged the brush down using Illamasqua Harsh polish which is a silver glitter. It's really pretty as the glitter particles are little dashes rather than specks. I think it makes a great effect although it's a bugger to get off!
